「造花のバラ」（Plainly Artificial Rose）X-Patriate 私的解釈

X-Patriate は Alan J. Lipman が詩を書き、曲を作り、歌い、楽器を演奏している、いわば一人バンドだ。
Alan も変わっていて、本職はボストンで開業する精神科医だ。

今回は「Plainly Artificial Rose」の歌詞を翻訳してみた。
これには無料で聴けるバージョンはないが、「The Sounds Are Filtering Into The Heats」（）のアルバムに収録されており、iTune ストアから購入できる。

以下は、その私的解釈だ。

美しい女がいる。

だが近づいてよく見ると、高価な化粧品や、高価なドレスで着飾った、作り物の美人だというのがわかる。その美しさは造花のバラだ。添え木がないとちゃんと立つことさえできない、作り物なのだ。

彼女は、盛りをすぎた美女。すでに戦いを放棄した美女。彼女自身がそれをよくわかっている。

彼女はみずから退場する。そっと見守ってあげよう。

There is a beauty.

But you see closely her and find that her beauty is fake even though wearing a costly dress and makeup. Her beauty is like a artificial rose.
She can't see others withought a costly dress and makeup.

She knows that she is a woman loosing her youth and beauty, she was a beauty but not now.

She is going to retire and we are watching her.
